Welcome to the Huntington Yacht Club (d.b.a. Huntington Riverfront Marina). The list of resident boater member benefits of the Huntington Riverfront Marina are listed below.

Additionally, there are other services that are listed more particularly below ("New Benefit: Mechanic Services"). This memorandum details the various services and operations of the Huntington Riverfront Marina.

The Huntington Yacht Cub (and Holderby's Landing) was purchased by a long-time boating enthusiast. These two companies were combined into a single holding company, Holderby's Group, Inc.

The purpose of these purchases was to change for the better the boating environment in the City of Huntington and the surrounding areas and to provide transient boaters from Cincinnati to Pittsburgh with a dynamic environment whereby boaters could be served by other boaters. In other words, the owner of the marina and restaurant, commonly referred to as Holderby's Landing: Huntington's Riverfront Marina, is a long-time boating enthusiast, owning several boats, including a 1973 vintage Boston Whaler, a 33' Sea Ray, and other boats.

The ownership of this Marina understands boaters, understands boating enthusiasts and recreational river activities. Accordingly, there are continual improvements made to the Restaurant and Nightclub facility, in addition to the Marina, all to serve the recreational boating and local community in Huntington, West Virginia.

Our mission statement, located above the Restaurant entrance, aptly describes the philosophy of what we now call Holderby's Landing: Huntington's Riverfront Marina. That mission statement is simply stated as follows:

Mission Statement

THE TIME TO BE HAPPY IS NOW
THE PLACE TO BE HAPPY IS HERE
THE WAY TO BE HAPPY IS
TO MAKE OTHERS SO
(AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT WE INTEND TO DO)

New Benefit: Mechanic Services

We have now added to "Marina Services", general boat repair and maintenance. Also, canvas boat covers are available for standard or custom fits through the Marina . Our very capable mechanic has come on board for all such work. In other words, we will now be doing engine repair, and other forms of work including welding, fiberglass work, canvas work, or whatever is necessary, within our abilities.

We are also pleased to offer a mechanic rate that is competitive in the area. We have surveyed the rates and, locally, they are in the high Seventy-Five Dollar ($75.00) to Eighty Dollar ($80.00) range on an hourly basis. We have a lower overhead for these services and, therefore, we are offering the transient boaters a Sixty-Five Dollars ($65.00) per hour mechanic rate.

HOWEVER, for our Resident Boaters at our Marina, we are giving a Ten Dollar ($10.00) per hour club benefit (discount), for a total hourly rate for Huntington Yacht Club Resident Boaters of Fifty-Five Dollars ($55.00) per hour for such mechanic work. Any parts required, of course, would be an additional cost.

Accordingly, we welcome any inquiry on the mechanic services. Normally, what will occur is that the boater request for service would be made by e-mail, to Mechanic@HolderbysLanding.net. The protocol is that our mechanic will fill out a Work Order Request and Cost Form. This would be signed by the boater requesting the service. Of course, it would be impossible to estimate the exact time, but a reasonable estimated range of time will be given for the proposed work for the scope of that assignment. Any additional request, of course, would not be within that time projected.

Thus, this benefit will be added to the list of benefits for the Resident Boaters of the Huntington Yacht Club. The new revised current list of club benefits are as follows:

1. Free admission to Holderby's Landing events for Resident Boater and guest(s);
2. Discounts on dinner at Holderby's Landing;
3. Discounts on drinks at Holderby's Landing;
4. Free Ice;
5. Ten Cents ($.10) off per gallon on gas;
6. Ten Dollars ($10.00) off a reduced hourly rate for the mechanic work on boats.
7. Free Access to our Resort Condominiums; (Snowshoe Resort in Snowshoe, W.V., and Smith Mountain Lake in Roanoke, V.A.)

As many of you know, we added the free access to our resort condominiums at Snowshoe Resort and Smith Mountain Lake in Roanoke, Virginia (when the condominiums are available). Because these condominiums are not rented about 60 to 70 percent of the year, we felt that it would be a nice benefit to offer to waive the condominium fee for the Huntington Yacht Club members. The seasonal condominium fee is approximately Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) per night, normally. For example, the Smith Mountain Lake Condominium's market value approximates Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($400,000.00) at this time. These are very nice Resort Condominiums with plenty of amenities (see the linked photographs). Thus, one can go on a family vacation free of charge (waiver of the usual condominium fee) .

Please feel free to contact Sara at our office at (304) 522-3038 Monday - Friday. Sara is the administrative person who handles the booking for the condominiums and can give you more information and book them for you.
We wish to keep adding benefits to the Huntington Yacht Club. We have, for example, completed the "carpeting" of approximately five hundred feet (500 ft.) of docks. Phase one was a beautiful blue marine carpet that also has white rope lighting up one side of the docks.

Next, we are completing additional installation of waterfalls. As you will recall, we began last year to turn the stone pillars into pillars of water by pumping the water with large commercial pumps up to the top of the stone wall/pillar (the one behind the stage bar and the one supporting the ramp). This allows the water to cascade down the pillars. We have also added lighting to the waterfalls.

We are proud to keep improving these benefits to make this the most fun and "Coolest Marina" on Any River, Anywhere.

More to come later, friends.

Sincerely Yours,

Huntington Yacht Club
